CROW

Since summer, two crows have nested in a tree right besides our bedroom. Sometimes, when i meditate or ‘try to communicate with my guides', they give me answers. Crows are considered magical creatures in many cultures, and in a number of old stories and myths, crows are messengers.

Crow’s stay together in flocks that usually have family ties. They do so mostly in fall and winter, after which they tend to go their own way a bit more during the warmer months of the year. Crows are intelligent creatures that collaborate and use tools and tricks to solve problems and find food. They aren’t afraid to make a mess.
Crow Energy is spiritually strong, and has traditionally been connected to dark magic and creativity coming from our shadow side. Crow invites us to make ourselves known, and heard. To be clear and loud when necessary. Crows are drawn to, and connected to, what is unseen and unknown to our mind, but very clear to our hearts.

Working with Crow

When you work with Crow energy, or when Crow comes to you, make sure your mind is clear and your intentions are coming from your heart. When Crow energy is unbalanced, it can be hypersensitive, and ungrounded. Make sure to ground your energy with enough ‘earthy’ pleasures, like spending time in nature, meeting and laughing with friends, healthy nutritious food, happy moments and mindfulness. When Crow shows up, having a daily meditation or journalling practice can be helpful. Make sure to balance dark and light and to look beyond that polarisation and acknowledge that they are - in fact - one.

Channeling Crow’s message

“Crow energy is everywhere, and crow’s invitation for us is to see that clearly. It is through our dark shadows and the myths that surround it that we can also embrace our light. What is the shadow you don’t want people to see, what is the part that you hold in the dark, that you silence?

Connect to the part that doesn’t get a voice. Can you say yes to all of it? And say it clearly, without distractions? Can you be vocal, and Open? Can you be in the shadow and stay there, without needing to move to the light. Can the light emerge from there? Can you receive there?

Can you fully feel that the light and shadow in you are both coming from the same place? can you go beyond the duality, and feel the one-ness? Can you be grounded on earth and connected to a bigger truth? And can you enjoy the mess you make when exploring and living your life?”

My own experience with Crow

When Crow came to me in a medicine journey, it was a strong, and more masculine, magical energy. Bold, more clear, more straightforward. Crow was super obvious. No doubts, no half-assed stuff. Crow medicine is psychic, ánd strong and clear at the same time.

Where Raven is less clear, and more ambiguous, Crow is not.

It was in that medicine journey where, when I accepted Crow as a teacher, and all of Crow’s medicine, that I got another initiation into Earth Magic. Through a line of wise, tribal, female ancestors. Native American, Celtic and Northern priestesses, Egyptian magicians, Indian wise women. They were all there, and I was their heir, the next in line. When I bowed for their sacrifice and their wisdom, their truth and their bravery, I turned around to the altar, and then Raven came…. Representing the more feminine shadow side - at least for me.

I had to accept the role of the divine masculine. The Loud and Clear Messenger. “Say Yes to Crow medicine, in order to emerge further in the divine feminine.”

What is clear for me even when writing this, is that I have hardly seen Raven in real life since that journey. But have seen Crow, sometimes even ‘posing as Raven’ and making me doubt which one was speaking to me. It tells me that both Raven is playing tricks with me, and also that Crow and I aren’t finished yet… Crows are all around these days. Loud and Clear.
